Fight Scene During the Tastie Monkey Promo Shoot

"Flawless Victory!"

As you may have seen on the featured post slider above, I had a recent shoot for the rebirth of the clothing line I started way back in '07. The day of the shoot was really really fun and everything was going well. There was a lot of laughter and I truly believed I chose the perfect group to show off the silent promotion of the all new line with it's all new attitude.

That shoot though has to be saved for it's own post so look out for that =]. It's still in the lab, but once all the kinks are worked through, I'll be making sure the announcement makes it's way.

On another note, as thanks, I offered the group some personal photo sessions. This is where they could get more comfortable and have more fun with it to show off their personalities. My favorite throughout it was the fight scene I had them do. I saw these kinda shots on the net and thought about how awesome and creative they were. These were hella fun and it was just a blast to see them in action =D.

"FIGHT!"

"Round 1"

"Fatality!"

I'd like to send out a huge huge shout out to my models that day. RICH "MC RYOKU", EMILY, RO AND CHRISTINE, YAH'LL WERE BY FAR THE BEST MODELS I'VE EVER HAD AND MADE THAT SHOOT THE BEST ONE I'VE EVER DID SINCE I STARTED. I ENJOYED EVERY MOMENT OF IT AND I HOPE YOU ALL DID AS WELL.

Also, "The Behind the Scenes/Making" time lapse video is in the works so make sure to look out for that =D

HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND EVERYONE!!!

Spring

This weekend was pretty amazing and I truly love every bit of it.
I had a successful promotional photo shoot for my soon to completely launch clothing line, had a pretty good time on Sunday's 3rd Saipan's Photographer's meet and had a beautiful Saturday morning photo walk with my parents.

These pictures were all taken during the photo walk on Saturday. It was a pretty gloomy day but a peek of the bright blue sky through the thick grey clouds became more visible throughout the morning. The gloomy-ness gave me a pretty good advantage though, it diffused the harsh light you usually get at this time.
Lately I've actually been experimenting with my photography and changing up how I usually process them after the shots. I also started making sure that each shot was much sharper than they actually are since I've noticed my photographs to be a bit too soft.
I also started playing with colors, and so far really loving the results. They're pretty much more vibrant and I noticed that they don't have the dull grey tint on them anymore. They're not too dark, which has been my problem even in traditional art. I believe that I can safely say that I'm slowly finding the balance I've always wanted.
The bird below has to be my most successful shot the whole morning. I always wanted to get a clear shot of a bird and this really made my day. It took me a few tries to chase it down, but I guess it got tired and said "Heck, I'll just let her take my picture. Anyways, I'll have something to show off to the other birds ;p "
LOL

I hope you guys enjoyed the photos and I wish you all a beautiful Spring time/break.

Much Love,
Nix

Music is a Physical Motivator

I believe that there's a handful of people who doesn't know my interest in music and making music. I come from a family who enjoys it incredibly and I'm really blessed to have taken in the diversity of the type of music I grew up to love.

On the summers of 07-08, I focused greatly on graphic design with a concentration in urban artistry. A lot of my influence came from underground artists I met on Myspace that became my first ever client base. They where all focused on the hip hop movement, but because of their raw experimental tastes, I grew to love other unnoticed genres.

Inspired, I also gave it a try to cover songs and or to create my remixes on published beats. I hardly had these shared because I was pretty shy and honestly, not too proud of the voice I once had. Though it was a great time of experimenting with another medium that I wasn't completely new to, it brought life back into the inner poet in me.

A spark of inspiration has come again to create music in the form of cover and collaboration into a remix of a song I recently discovered.

This one song is where all of the sparks came from. I found the remix while listening to other songs by Chiddy Bang and just thought that it was pretty sick. The remixed beats was created by Xaphoon Jones who has some pretty killa work. You guys should check him out.

Chiddy Bang is a pretty hot rapper, and Ellie Goalding's voice is just soo unique. There's just something about their collaboration that just made it all work out well.

Ellie Goulding - Starry Eyed (Shadowman's Better Late than Never Remix) **DL LINK INSIDE** by ShadowmanMUSIC
Another one of her music that I fell in love with is Starry Eyed and Shadowman's remix to it is super tight.

And another song I love from her:

So look out in the future. You might just hear me make a remix with either one of her songs =]

HAPPY FRIDAY!

A Look Back at The Salbahe' Brand & Vitamin Water Presents Swagg Session: 4Ever Young

Last year, Salbahe' Brand along with Bud Ice, hosted a killer event that was 100% successful. The club was packed, the energy was hyphy and everyone had a really really good time. This unforgettable event was Salbhe's first ever Swagg Session.

The success and talks of the event got so many people excited, that by popular demand, they just had to come out with another one.

Since the last Swagg Session was focused for the crowd of 21 and up, many of Salbahe's younger fan base were pretty sadden to have miss such a killer opportunity, so in response, Salbahe' came back with Swagg Session: 4Ever Young.

"Strictly for the Youth" 4ever Young was 110% huge success. The event presented by Salbahe' Brand and Vitamin Water had such a huge impact on all the youth of the island that you can literally feel the energy in the club.

Watch in HIGH QUALITY Here.
The place was packed up, corner to corner. It was active from beginning to end, and you could clearly tell how much everyone was really enjoying themselves.

In company with Marie Sayson of Marie Sayson Photography, we successfully covered the whole event. It was an awesome opportunity and I can't wait for the next one.

Though I got pretty surprised with the new generation's ways of partying (LOL), I really enjoyed the killer energy that the whole room had. It's the only missing factor when us, 'the adults' party it up in the clubs down here.
And I can't forget the awesome performance by Fatal Hitz. Look out for these guys yah'll! They gonna be making it big in the near future.
Oh oh oh, also the dance battle in the end was sick!! Hahahaha, seriously, it made me miss my bboying well bgirling days hahaha.

Pretty much, it just made me miss highschool all over again =p

31911 2nd Photographer's Meet Review

So last month, we had our 2nd Saipan Photographer's Meet. The new location wasn't anything new to me, but to others in the group, it's been years for them since they last step foot on the old abandoned mall.

La Fiesta used to be a really lively area in Saipan. The heart of a very well designed tourist spot. It was the biggest and only outdoor mall we had on island, and people would actually drive from all over the island to get to this one spot on every major holiday to celebrate.

The center stage used to fill up with people. During Christmas, snow would be flown in from Japan for a snowman building contest. Ice sculptures would be made as well. On Halloween, the place would get transformed top to bottom in spirit, and they had one of the best haunted houses to visit.

Now the place looks really haunted. It's completely destroyed, broken into and neglected.

While everyone else took shots of the models present, I decided to choose a different route.

I wanted to capture what was left of the place that I used to visit constantly. It was one of the first places I visited when I first got here and a very place that holds so many memories.

As we walked around, I could easily name every spot I checked out when it was alive. I remember the arcade, the beautiful Korean restaurant my mom used to work for, the old Tony Romas and Capricciosa my best friend would take me to for lunch and the small spots I took pictures at with my family.

Now everything is slowly taken in by nature itself and to the hands of vandals. Windows shattered, doors forced open, items left behind stolen or thrown everywhere. It was just something you really couldn't believe.

But as I mentioned on my last post about the shoot I helped in on the same location,
what may look like an eyesore to many, is an art piece to another.

The eerie look and feel of the place shows a history that makes you wonder deeply, why was something so beautiful left like this. And to capture that emotion, is something not easily explainable.
