Trust Me, You Won't Believe Your Eyes

"PhotoRealistic Paintings By Jason De Graaf".....
Are they photographs? Nope. Are they computer generated? Nope.
They are all paintings in acrylic on canvases.
Yup, you read that right. The images below are all painted by hand by one of the pro-est painters I've discovered.

Jason De Graaf is a painter from Canada who's work is so realistic that to a glance or to the untrained eye, you would mistakenly think his work was done with a different medium. He focuses on light and its relationship with reflection and transparency. The goal to his unique style is to give you a different view of things that photography cannot capture, such as the certain depth and feel that paintings have on it's viewers.

I hope this post inspired yah'll today.
It sure did hit a creative spot with me =D!
AND MAKE SURE TO VISIT JASON DE GRAAF'S DEVIANTART PAGE AND BLOG FOR MORE OF HIS AMAZING ARTWORKS!!

A 2011 Wishlist ;D

"Twinkle Twinkle Lil Star".....
Ahh yes, counting down to the days till the end of 2010. I've had all I wanted for Christmas this year and what a better way to plan out the upcoming year with a newly defined wish list =D.
Always keep in mind that time will change your plans no matter what, so with the time given do as much as you can as possible ^-^. Instead of a wish list of lil materialistic things that won't do much good in the future, I decided to create a list where I know will benefit my future.

They may cost holes in them wallets, but I know they'll help me me in the end where it all pays off ^-^

1. -ADOBE CREATIVE SUITE 5 MASTER COLLECTION
[OR CS6 MASTER IF EVER THEY UPGRADE LOL]
-ADOBE PHOTOSHOP LIGHT ROOM 3 [4]
AND OR APPLE APERTURE 3 [4]
The infamous Adobe Creative Suite Master Collections has always been on every wish list I've ever had since the first days of me fiddling with Photoshop. The best software for the position I'm trying to master in, The Creative Suite Master Collection bundles every Adobe Creative software into 1. Then there is Lightroom and Aperture, to help me master my photography =].

2. -APPLE 17" MackBOOK PRO
-APPLE 27" CINEMA LED DISPLAY
-WACOM 21" CINTIQ 21UX INTERACTIVE PEN DISPLAY
My future dream workstation XD. Yes, yes. A 27" Cinema Led Display for a more "in-my-face" approach of editing and finishing projects, a 17" MacBook Pro for projects on the go and a 21" Cintiq tablet for a more focused and accurate approach into my graphic design work flow.

3. -CANON PIXMA PRO9500 MARK II PROFESSIONAL PHOTO INKJET PRINTER
-CANON PIXMA IX7000 CORPORATE & GRAPHIC ART PRINTER
If ever I stick to it and get better at it, I'd love to be able to personally provide customers with prints from my own home office. What's the best printers to do just the job? The Canon Pixma PRO9500 and the Pixma IX7000. Quality matters when it comes to capturing memories =].

4. -NIKON SB-700 SPEEDLIGHT
-NIKKOR 28-300mm F1:35-5.6 ZOOM LENS
-NIKKO 35mm F1:1.8 PRIME LENS
There is always going to be that true saying that when it comes to photography, its the lens and the lighting that matters the most. Clarity, speed, focus and light, the best they are the better you'll achieve what you're looking for. So hopefully in the future I'll be able to upgrade and add onto my current list of equipment to further my photography work. Still though, on top of all of that, it's the person behind the camera that tops it all off.

5. - SAVANNAH COLLEGE OF ART AND DESIGN
(BA IN GRAPHIC DESIGN)
-ACADEMY OF ART UNIVERSTIY
(MA IN VISUAL COMMUNICATIONS)
Since the day I graduated high school, one of my only goals was to get into an art school of my dreams. since I'm headed to 2 different locations by 2011 I'm hoping that I can finally have one of these dreams to come true. If I land long enough in Georgia, I'd love to enroll in SCAD to pursue a bachelors in graphic design and by the time I fly to California I'm hoping to pursue a masters in visual communications from AAU so that wishfully in the end I land my dream job =D....... Art/Creative Director ^-^

6. -ACURA 2006 RSX
-BBS I AI OR KONIG AIRSTRIKE RIMS
Ahhh! Lol, another dream of mine right here and I'm willing to make it happen fo'real. I been into import long enough to get me wanting to have my own ride I can customize. This right here is what I'm praying for to be my new baby when I fly out =p. The Acura RSX has been one sexy ass ride I been eying, and budget wise, I can afford. The mods for this baby are sic and I can't wait to get my hands on one to start a build project XD. Then you know, she gotta roll like me, with some new shows. The all new BBS I AI or them Konig Airstrike seems just right for her first pairs ^-^

Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee 2011 here I come hehehe, but before all this, I gotta get my money straight. Get myself enough dow to cop me a plane ticket to GA where I'll be getting ready to start off a new life ^-^

Hope to see yah'll there!!

PEACE, LOVE AND HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!

Inspiring Photographs By JLace Photography (Johnny Carracedo)

"His photographs are amazingly AWESOME!!".....
Mr.Jlace himself has one heck of an amazing portfolio on him. I discovered his work through searching Tumblr and seriously fell in love with his style at first glance. There's always goin to be an obvious difference between anyone's work who deals with any form of art and that is the difference of seeing work done by people who just does it and seeing work from people who loves it.
In Johnny's case though, you can clearly see how much he loves what he's doing. He has a keen eye for detail and his chosen style makes his captures feel like a true memory. Could you believe he's only 19, and already he's at an advance level =D.

I totally recommend you guys to check him out, spread the love by following him on his Tumblr, by suggesting him to you're friends or by leavin a shout out =].

Hope you guys enjoyed this post ^-^
Stay Brezzy!

First Week Of Project 365

I found out all bout the 365 project when I wrote about Julia Wang's photography. It was really interesting, the whole concept around it is that you must take a picture every single day for the whole year and post and write about them aswell. This whole project will help you to become better in your craft and you'll be shock on how much you'll improve by the end of the year. So I thought to myself that since my brand new first DSLR camera was coming in, that I should use this project to get used to it.

For the past months of getting back into photography, I've been using only a compact point-and-shoot camera. Yup, all my work tagged with Myreikko Imagery were all taken with a point-and-shoot ^-^.
Truth is the last time I've ever worked a DSLR was back in high school during the whole semester I took up photography. So you could just imagine my reaction when I finally got my camera and already had 1 photo shoot scheduled 3/4 days after.

001/365 112910 "First day with the new camera (Nikon D7000)."
I read the manual a couple of times after we finally had the order down. I've read full reviews on this very camera before I even made a serious decision. I am honestly not disappointed. There's nothing bout this camera that I don't like except the fact that I get frustrated trying to learn it lol. Though they did advice that this baby wasn't meant for a beginner, aye I rather take my chances haha.

002/365 113010 "Mom and Bokeh."
Above was my first attempt to get a bokeh feel and a clear un-shaky portrait. That's my mama by the way lol. Overall I can safely say I did a good job hehehe just wish it wasn't so orange -.-

003/365 120110 "Spiz'ikes."
Ahhh, this day was da bomb. I met up with a fellow photographer and friend of mine to learn some basics from him. After a good talk and some sharing of quality knowledge, I went home that very night with one objective: Play with the Speedlight I bought with the camera and do an old time studio shoot. I do these shoots alot before, just something I did when I was bored hahaha. I got some sick images that night , even though I was fighting with the camera and the flash ahaha.

004/365 120210 "Java."
This was taken after my first photo shoot with the new camera. We decided to chill at one of the local bars and grab a drink. The drink above though isn't from the bar hahaha, it's one of my favorite flavors from a really popular cafe here called Java Joes. This night was something to remember fo'sho. New experiences, new equipment, new people. It was awesome and I can't wait for yah'll to read about that very shoot.

005/365 120310 "Tripp-Lite."
I thought I was done for the year with all the buying of expensive equipment, but to dad a new camera meant more photo shoots meaning more important files in my computer and knowing that the power here tends to be so messed up, it isn't worth risking the life of my 2k Imac. So I had to swallow my pride and bought a UPS Battery Back-Up System -.-

006/365 120410 "Raindrops and Lollipops."
This was an awesome day! LOL I know, I know. You see them rain drops, bet you're like wat's so awesome with a rainy day on a photo shoot. Well cause the whole day it didn't rain, there was hardly a gray cloud in the sky and I had amazing results with my 2nd and 3rd photo shoots with my new cam. Like the pick above, they came out Happy Dandy!!

007/365 120510 "Tis the Season."
Another day, another photo shoot. I was pretty happy with the results from this day too ^-^. New concepts, new feel and I got some pretty awesome shots! It was the day I started noticing that I was getting just a lil better than compared with the first day I had the cam hehe. Once again, I can't wait for you guys to read bout this shoot ^-^

Well I hope all yahll enjoyed my first week of the 365!
Stay tuned for the Second week and see what I come up with next =]

Love and Peace,
Nix

Angelina Jolie + VOGUE

"Undefeated beauty".....
When I look into photography, I always think of all the professional fashion shoots I would see in magazines. That is the style I wish to master one day, and one that I would love to create using the island's locations. My most favorite fashion shots are those I always find in Vogue magazines.I love how they're full of art, passion and emotions and how their photographers captures the purest feature of their models.
Then there are the images taken of the famous celebrities we all know by heart. One such as Angelina Jolie. Who could forget her? The biggest icon of beauty. Her roles are always remembered and her exotic features will never be forgotten. She is one of the best examples of an incredible model just because she makes photographs of her look legendary.

Oh My Gosh...........

Oh man, I think EVERYONE should live by this one rule; try before you make a decision cause in a single moment, you'll be missing out on something incredible and might end up regretting X.x

During my friend's birthday weekend, I ended up trying something out that was hella amazing. I knew alotta peeps down here has tried it before cause the island is covered with dirt roads, but I could never find the right person with the right car to go off-roading. Luckily though, that Saturday we ended renting a Suzuki Grand Vitara, it was one of the only cars left on the lot aside from the new 4runner and one we were actually really eying on. When the dude told us how much it was compared to what we heard on the phone, damn I went ahead and got it. Now I'll talk more about this on a next post cause on this post I'd like to write about a ride that caught my eyes.
Suzuki Kizashi 2010

After being able to drive the Grand Vitara (a ride I actually wanted right away after I got my license)  for a day, I was bought. The power of the car and the handling was extremely awesome, and I got to test out one of the rides I did love. It made me wanted to learn more about Suzuki and once I got on the page, my attention was caught else where.

One of there newest models blew me awaaaaaaaaay. The Suzuki Kizashi screamed sport, fun, power and all around me. LOL

Argh I know I got my heart set on a ride already, but damn ;p

Collaborative Shoot with Marie Sayson Photography

Seven days ago I took on a collaboration with a local upcoming photographer/make-up artist and friend Marie Sayson of Marie Sayson Photography. We took on a very familiar location here on island which fit perfectly with her action theme. The Old Japanese Jail located here in Saipan is one awesome location, it's old, run down and grudge-ie, just the way we like it =].

Jacky (My Assistant) and Marie Sayson (Marie Sayson Photography)

It was really the perfect place for a Tomb Raider like reenactment, though being around this location at night was a little scary O.O

Secondary shots by me.

As always, my awesome assistant/personal model did a great job. We had some artist block along the way but recovered fairly well lol. I miss editing shots where I can customize them the way I usually do with my images.

Dizz Is Mah House!

This set alone made me realize what I set back and separated from my true abilities and what I've been trying to master. I really ain't looking into being a complete photographer, I rather be a visionary artist ^-^.

Oww Oww lol.

Though I'm still holding back on the graphics, it's only because I don't want one medium overlooking the other. Sadly during this whole shoot, my camera was set manually on a fixed setting that wasn't appropriate for the lighting that night. Lol, I tried to use Marie's second SLR that she made me play with, but I just couldn't get the right fill =/ Hopefully this won't be the same story when I finally get my own.
Movie Trailer feel hehe.

All in all it was a fun shoot and another opportunity to add onto our growing portfolios =D.

Till next time, be on the look out for more collaborations!!
Make sure to Visit Marie's Facebook page as well, she has great potential and I can't wait to see her grow creatively XD

Nix

Wonderful Wedding Photographs By JWL Photograpy

I think I can safely say that every girl dreams of her wedding day. She dreams about her dress, her hair, her make up, her bride maids, everything from the ceremony to the reception and everything else in between ^-^. Alot of stress and planning goes into a wedding, especially if it's based on your dreams, so having them documented is a major need. That is why it should never be taken lightly. It's a once in a life time event, and because of the power of photography, we are able to capture the most precious moments and have them last forever.

Jason Lee of J W L Photography has a well rounded talent for wedding and portraits. He captures the most intimate emotions with every couple he meets as well as everyone else during the event. I love how he focuses on the bride and groom and how you can strongly tell by their photographs that they're completely sincere about the love they have for each other.

His creative approach also brings out the characters in his photos and every one of them tells a story. His captures never just seems to be a picture of a bride and groom and their wedding or engagement, they're more like memories frozen in time.

And aside from his wedding portfolio, he has a gorgeous collection of family portraits.

He also has an adorable collection of photographs of his daughters. They are so cute and the photo shoots he has with them are so fun and creative ^-^

I hope all yahll enjoyed the post =D
