The Biggest Wedding I've Ever Covered

August 06, 2011 - Nathan and Ina's Wedding

About a month ago, I had the opportunity to cover the biggest wedding I've ever experienced. Out of all the weddings I was hired or side shot for, this by far was the greatest. About a guest list of close to 400 people, I honestly admit that I started to think I agreed to do something more than I could ever handle.

In the beginning, I was already feeling the stress. I was having a hard time finding an assistant photographer. Everyone was busy or out of island that I knew could help me out, some just got scared of how many people were going to be there.

In the end, I was so blessed to find that an upcoming photographer and good friend of mine was willing to take on the huge task with me. She did such a great job and made the whole experience enjoyable. Though it was the first time we ever worked with each other, I was so impress with how well we got along.

You guys should definitely check her out; Krisha Conception Photography. She's such an inspirational young photographer with such superb skills in Fashion Photography. I can see her in the future, making a big name for herself, seeing her work in editorials, billboards and magazine stands. XD, I'm so excited to see her grow hehehe.

Bridal Prep:

I always love this part of the day. It's at the time where everything starts to kick in with everyone involved. The time when the bride starts to feel a roller coaster of emotions. Excitement, nervousness, stress, anxiety, they get so worried and happy all at the same time. Though they successfully give off such a calm vibe, relaxing all those jumpy nerves till the actual hour that she reaches the alter.

The Ceremony:

The actual moment, the best part of the day. The time when both husband and wife to be, finally see's each other and unite in front of the alter to become as one. During this time, the church was filled with love. So much support from everyone who came. Family and friends filled the room all to witness such a blessing for two special people they all care for.

At the end of the day, with aching joints and a memory card filled with hundreds of photos, I've got to experience once again how wonderful true love is.

Every ceremony is different and special in their own ways, but in the end all but one thing is celebrated...
Uniting the love of two people as one.

^-^
I hope you guys enjoyed the photos, more recaps on past works coming soon!

Much love,
Nix

A Look Back at The Salbahe' Brand & Vitamin Water Presents Swagg Session: 4Ever Young

Last year, Salbahe' Brand along with Bud Ice, hosted a killer event that was 100% successful. The club was packed, the energy was hyphy and everyone had a really really good time. This unforgettable event was Salbhe's first ever Swagg Session.

The success and talks of the event got so many people excited, that by popular demand, they just had to come out with another one.

Since the last Swagg Session was focused for the crowd of 21 and up, many of Salbahe's younger fan base were pretty sadden to have miss such a killer opportunity, so in response, Salbahe' came back with Swagg Session: 4Ever Young.

"Strictly for the Youth" 4ever Young was 110% huge success. The event presented by Salbahe' Brand and Vitamin Water had such a huge impact on all the youth of the island that you can literally feel the energy in the club.

Watch in HIGH QUALITY Here.
The place was packed up, corner to corner. It was active from beginning to end, and you could clearly tell how much everyone was really enjoying themselves.

In company with Marie Sayson of Marie Sayson Photography, we successfully covered the whole event. It was an awesome opportunity and I can't wait for the next one.

Though I got pretty surprised with the new generation's ways of partying (LOL), I really enjoyed the killer energy that the whole room had. It's the only missing factor when us, 'the adults' party it up in the clubs down here.
And I can't forget the awesome performance by Fatal Hitz. Look out for these guys yah'll! They gonna be making it big in the near future.
Oh oh oh, also the dance battle in the end was sick!! Hahahaha, seriously, it made me miss my bboying well bgirling days hahaha.

Pretty much, it just made me miss highschool all over again =p

31911 2nd Photographer's Meet Review

So last month, we had our 2nd Saipan Photographer's Meet. The new location wasn't anything new to me, but to others in the group, it's been years for them since they last step foot on the old abandoned mall.

La Fiesta used to be a really lively area in Saipan. The heart of a very well designed tourist spot. It was the biggest and only outdoor mall we had on island, and people would actually drive from all over the island to get to this one spot on every major holiday to celebrate.

The center stage used to fill up with people. During Christmas, snow would be flown in from Japan for a snowman building contest. Ice sculptures would be made as well. On Halloween, the place would get transformed top to bottom in spirit, and they had one of the best haunted houses to visit.

Now the place looks really haunted. It's completely destroyed, broken into and neglected.

While everyone else took shots of the models present, I decided to choose a different route.

I wanted to capture what was left of the place that I used to visit constantly. It was one of the first places I visited when I first got here and a very place that holds so many memories.

As we walked around, I could easily name every spot I checked out when it was alive. I remember the arcade, the beautiful Korean restaurant my mom used to work for, the old Tony Romas and Capricciosa my best friend would take me to for lunch and the small spots I took pictures at with my family.

Now everything is slowly taken in by nature itself and to the hands of vandals. Windows shattered, doors forced open, items left behind stolen or thrown everywhere. It was just something you really couldn't believe.

But as I mentioned on my last post about the shoot I helped in on the same location,
what may look like an eyesore to many, is an art piece to another.

The eerie look and feel of the place shows a history that makes you wonder deeply, why was something so beautiful left like this. And to capture that emotion, is something not easily explainable.

Recap Pt.1 (Imagery: 1st Ever NMI Bully Show)

February 19, 2011

Ok, so I figured out a way to post my works lol. I'll do a series of recaps plus another post of my most recent work each day (so I don't spam my facebook). With this, I'll be able to have you, my dear readers, catch up on all the stuff I've been doing.

First recap is about the Pitbull based dog show we had here on island, last month. It's the first AKBC dog show and it was a lot of fun to check out. So many pitbulls in every age group, but I must say that the puppies are always the cutest XD.

It was nice to see the island community come together to appreciate the event. Clear nice day to just spend with your family and your doggies lol.

I had a lot of fun taking pictures, but was too shy to get close to any of them haha.

To see more coverage of this event, head over to my facebook fan page by clicking the images.
HAPPY FRIDAY!

A late post on the 1st Saipan's Photographer's Meet

"We were quite surprise with the outcome of the event..."
On February 12, 2011, my friend and fellow photographer, Marie Sayson, organized the first ever Saipan's Photographer's Meet. It was a clear Saturday afternoon, and boy oh boy was it the perfect weather to bring out our cameras and shoot.

The night before, we had a mini meet and greet, where we had dinner with a few of the local photographers. It was a good thing that we scheduled this too because a few who came that night couldn't come the day after.

It was a blast to talk with everyone of the same interest in every skill level in photography. We had top guns like Del Benson, Hideo Honda, Eric Javier, Rey Belgado and Antonio Cabrera who were very friendly and gladly shared much of their knowledge about photography.

"Mr.Famous" photographed while photographing a local model.

My outcome of the Shooting-Time part of the Meet =D

Hope you enjoyed the read!
